Aidan DeYoung was born and raised in San Mateo and received his training at the Academy of Ballet with Richard Gibson and Zory Karah. In 2007 Aidan joined Ballet West, where he performed in works by choreographers including Sir Frederick Ashton, Mark Morris, Nicolo Fonte, Helen Pickett, Jiri Kylian, and George Balanchine. Aidan also choreographed for Ballet West’s Innovations program, premiering his ballets Outward and Eenvoudig. In 2012, Aidan moved back to the Bay Area and joined Smuin Ballet. He began working with Post:Ballet at the same time, and has since performed in Dekkers’ Flutter, When in Doubt, Regards Yours, ourevolution, and Do Be. He has been nominated for two Isadora Duncan Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Performance- Ensemble,” in Dekkers’ Yours is Mine and field the present shifts. This is Aidan’s fourth season as a dance artist with Post:Ballet.
