Don’t miss the company’s fifth summer season program, Five High, featuring the world premiere of ourevolution and two favorites from the Post:Ballet repertoire, Mine is Yours and field the present shifts. Post:Ballet’s annual summer season reveals “Artistic Director Robert Dekkers’ creative genius and the off-the-charts talent of every Post:Ballet dance artist” (Heather Desaulniers, Critical Dance).
ourevolution is Robert Dekkers’ second collaboration with visual artist Enrique Quintero. Set to a mesmerizing score by composer Nils Frahm, ourevolution explores our society’s steady drift toward isolation as well as our potential to connect deeper with one another, our environment, and ourselves. The new work will feature costume design by aesthetic advisor Christian Squires and Susan Roemer of S-Curve Apparel & Design, lighting by David Robertson, and animation by Stephen Goldblatt.
field the present shifts focuses on the space between objects, making observations on the relationship between individual and community, freedom and constraint, finite and infinite. At the core of the work is a conversation between different disciplines and languages. The artists constructed field the present shifts to give the dancers and artists freedom to make choices in real time during the show and influence the direction of each performance. The collaborative team includes architects Robert Gilson and Catherine Caldwell, composer/violinist Matthew Pierce, lighting designer David Robertson, and costume designer Christine Darch. Mine is Yours, originally created with composer Daniel Berkman for the 2012 San Francisco International Arts Festival, explores sharing in relationships. The work features stunning costumes by Susan Roemer and lighting design by David Robertson. Watch excerpts of Mine is Yours by clicking VIDEO.
