Percussionist Andy Meyerson, co-founder and artistic director of The Living Earth Show, has become an integral part of the Post:Ballet family since our first collaboration in 2014. Called “mesmerizing” by SF Classical Voice, “extremely talented” by Charleston Post and Courier, and “dazzling” by SF Examiner, Andy’s performances have been featured at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, 12 Nights in Miami, Microfest in Los Angeles, Switchboard Music Festival in San Francisco, and TriBeCa New Music in New York.
Andy’s passion for innovation and creativity has become a vital force here at Post:Ballet. His performances- in Between us and On Falling at our 2016 P:B Jam fundraiser; in Pitch Pause Please and Flutter at our 2015 YBCA production; and of course, in all of our “Do Be” collaborative creations with The Living Earth Show- showcase his depth, breadth, and brilliance as a performing artist.
In 2016, Andy will release his solo debut album, “My Side Of The Story,” as well as several new recordings with The Living Earth Show. TLES will also premiere “Do Be” with Post:Ballet on August 4-6 at Z Space. Andy is a founding member of militant rap-rock band C O /\/\ /\/\ /\ /\/ D O and a Spaun Drums endorsing artist.
Together with Artistic Director Robert Dekkers, Andy curates the company’s new music commissions, leads the musicians performing in the company’s productions, and helps to further Post:Ballet’s creative mission to initiate risk taking collaborations.
